How does Denplan work?
- Your dentist will talk to you about the dental plans so that you can choose which one is right for you – Denplan Care or Denplan Essentials.
- The dentist will then carry out a dental assessment. The amount you pay will be decided by your dentist and is based on your oral health and how much dental treatment you will need.
- Any treatment that is needed, will be done before the Denplan cover starts, in order for you to be assessed as dentally fit.
What is Denplan Care?
Denplan Care is a comprehensive dental plan for our patients, covering preventive and restorative oral healthcare treatments. What you pay per month depends on your oral health, making sure you only pay for what you need.
What does Denplan Care include?
- Dental check-ups (as clinically necessary)
- Dental hygiene visits (as clinically necessary)
- Dental x-rays
- Necessary fillings
- Necessary extractions
- Periodontal treatment
- Preventive dental advice and therapy
- Crowns, dentures and bridgework (excluding lab fees)
- Root canal treatment

What is not included in your Denplan Care?
- Lab fees / prescriptions
- Any treatments your dentist has specially excluded from your contract
- Referral to a specialist and specialist treatment

- Orthodontics, implants and cosmetic treatment
- Sedation fees
- Extraction of wisdom teeth
- Treatment that's not clinically necessary
Please remember – your routine dental treatment is at the discretion of the dentist and your contract is with the dentist, not Denplan
Family Discounts
Dental payment plans can benefit the whole family. Where more than one member of the family is registered at the same practice and payments are made under one single direct debit, the following discounts apply:
- Family Members - 5% Discount
- Three Family Members - 10% Discount
- Four or More Family Members - 15% Discount
Freedom to Cancel
The Denplan Care programme is designed to give the reassurance of long term support.
However, if you wish, you can cancel your agreement at any time by giving 21 days notice by telephone or in writing to your dentist and to Denplan.
