Dental Implants
The Gold Standard for Tooth Replacement
Missing or severely compromised teeth cause several problems. The gap where your tooth once stood could impact your confidence and put you off sharing your smile with the world.
Missing teeth also make eating difficult. Deciding on your next meal may have once been an easy decision, but worrying about your ability to bite or chew may mean you’re more selective about your food choices, and you might favour chewing on one the opposite side of your mouth.
The space left by your missing tooth is now at an increased risk of developing gum disease. Not only this, but your neighbouring teeth can slide in position, and the underlying jaw could deteriorate.
Dental implants replace your entire tooth. From tip to root, we can give you a fully-functional lifelike tooth. This isn’t just a cosmetic fix — this is a complete tooth restoration.
GET IN TOUCHA Solid Foundation
Dental implants provide a firm anchorage. Where other tooth replacement options restore the crown only, dental implants replace the root, which extends deep into your jaw. This foundation gives you the assurance you need to live life with confidence.
The implant is made of titanium — a strong, biocompatible metal used in various industries because it doesn’t deteriorate. Next, we’ll place the implant into your jaw, where it will slowly fuse to the bone, creating a rigid bond.
Once the implant is in position, we’ll complete the construction of your new tooth by placing a custom-made crown designed perfectly to match your smile. Titanium implants are the ideal solution for replacing one or more missing teeth.
Implant Benefits
Replacing lost teeth with dental implants comes with several life-changing benefits. From renewed confidence in your smile and bite to preventing several serious dental issues, implants can truly enhance your quality of life.
Smile With Confidence
For many, a gappy smile is a confidence killer. Feeling self-conscious about the look of your smile may mean you don’t just hold back from using it; you may also avoid laughing and even talking at times.
With dental implants, that can all change. We’ll create lifelike crowns modelled on your natural teeth. Your crowns will match seamlessly in terms of colour, shape, and size. Once your new tooth is positioned, you can enjoy a confident smile again.
Reclaim Mealtimes
The gap left by missing or damaged teeth can ruin mealtimes. It’s easy to worry about food becoming lodged in these spaces. Even chewing on the opposite side of your mouth is a problem as it could cause jaw pain.
With all these difficulties, you might find you’re avoiding certain types of foods. With dental implants, you can take control of your diet and enjoy your favourite meals again.
The fused titanium root of your dental implant allows you to bite or chew with confidence. The strength and rigidity of your implant are comparable to the support a natural tooth root gives its crown.
Preserve Jaw Density
When you lose a tooth, your jaw no longer needs to support it. The area of the jaw that once accommodated the root will deteriorate. A process called resorption takes away minerals from the bone, leaving your jaw thinner.
As jaw density diminishes, it can harm your facial structure. This is because your jaw supports the skin around your lips. Without the jawbone behind it, the skin can sink, giving you a prematurely-aged appearance.
When we place dental implants, they’ll fuse with your jaw preventing bone loss. Not only will your implants enhance your smile, but they’ll also keep you looking young.
Reduce Decay Risks
Gaps left by missing teeth are feeding grounds for bacteria. These spaces are often difficult to clean, and food debris and bacteria will meet there, increasing the potential for gum disease in that area and tooth decay in neighbouring teeth. Filling the gap with a dental implant will reduce these risks.
Prevent Dental Drift
Your teeth are reliant on their neighbours to keep them in line. When one tooth is lost, those next to the gap gradually slide along the arch and fill the space. This is dental drift. A gap can eventually lead to several teeth sliding out of position.
Placing a dental implant in the gap stops this movement.
Our Process
Dental implant placement requires precision surgery performed in several stages. Although we’ll perform your treatment in quaint traditional surroundings, our modern clinic has the latest digital technology on hand to ensure your procedure is smooth, efficient, and effective.
At every step of your implant journey, you’ll have our highly-skilled team’s complete care and support.
The Consultation
If you’ve lost a tooth or have a badly damaged tooth that we can’t preserve, we can assess your suitability for dental implants. Before we begin, we need to know that you have suitable jawbone density to support the implant. Without enough bone mass, the implant could fail.
We’ll assess your jaw using the latest scanning technology.
The Placement
We’ll give you an anaesthetic to numb pain or discomfort before performing your implant surgery. At this stage, we’ll fix the implant into your jaw.
We’ll create the perfect crown to top your implant. While the lab makes your crown, we may fit a temporary restoration that looks great and functions well. Once the final crown is complete, we’ll place it.
